Aims and Scope
European Environment is a leading academic journal in its
field. It publishes high quality, peer reviewed research papers and more applied
profiles that provide an original, detailed and critical analysis of
contemporary developments in environmental policy in Europe. Comparative
analyses and papers from other regions are also published. Papers focus
particularly on the nature of the policy process and on the basis for and
performance of different policy initiatives at levels including the
international, European, national, regional and local. The journal does not only
examine policies that are explicitly environmental – it also considers policies
in other areas such as energy, agriculture, transport, trade and industry that
have clear environmental implications. The journal emphasizes the importance of
multi-disciplinary approaches – papers published commonly draw upon aspects of
government, politics, public policy, law, economics, geography and a range of
other social and occasionally natural sciences.
All papers are internationally peer-reviewed by reviewers who aim to provide
constructive feedback in a reasonable time period to all contributors.
Papers published are accessible to the
multi-disciplinary readership of the journal that, aside from academia and
research organisations, incorporates all organisations with an interest in
environmental policy in the public, private and NGO sectors. The journal will be
of interest to a broad interdisciplinary audience including academics,
practitioners, policymakers and consultants.
